Program Overview

This program is a one week immersion experience in the world of fashion marketing in Dublin and London. The experience will include educational seminars, visits to key fashion and marketing related businesses such as Harrods, Savile Row, Mayfair district as well as cultural tours of Royal Palace, British Museums, other Fashion Districts and other cultural visits.

Course Information

This course is a two credit course that will have a research component both prior and after an approximately 7- 15 day study abroad program to a foreign country. There will be appointments with a variety of industry professionals including, but not exclusive to manufactures, designers, and independent business owners. There will be several appointments to gain a further understanding of the culture. A final paper integrating the experience and research will cap off the course.

Accommodations and Meals

Accommodations will be double occupancy at hotels. Breakfast at the hotel are included.  Most lunches and dinners will be on your own.

Excursions

As part of the program, students will participate in local tours of fashion businesses. City tours of Dublin and London are also included.

A passport is required for U.S. citizens traveling to Europe. If you need to apply for a passport, it is advised to allow at least 6 weeks for standard processing.

All students are required to attend a pre-departure orientation. This orientation provides information on health and safety, packing, trip planning, flight logistics, and other essential information.

Attendance at all pre-travel and post-travel class sessions as well as activities, meetings, and classes during the Study Abroad portion are mandatory.

This program is led by Madison College instructors, who will accompany participants to the host country as well as conduct pre-departure orientation sessions.

Cost

The program fee for Spring Break 2016 was approximately $3950.

All materials, including the initial deposit of $500 (made payable to Madison College), must be received by 4:00 p.m. on the deadline date in the Center for International Education. (NOTE: Unless an applicant is rejected, the $500 deposit is non-refundable.)
